Here is a Stefan. Have your way with him! (Perhaps in some shiny AU fashion? IDK w/e)

But something is dragging her back to Mystic Falls right now, and when she walks the streets, the memories assault her so strongly, she can't believe she ever left. There's so much history here, the kind that tangles around your ankles and ties you down, she can't imagine that she ever had the strength in the first place.
There's a part of her that wants to run, wants to break away before it ties her down again, but she can't. She needs this. She needs the reminder of who she is.
She makes her way into the grill, and can't help but stop and smirk when she sees a familiar pair of shoulders.]
I guess it's not Mystic Falls without Salvatores around, is it?
no subject
So of course he has to turn around and see for himself.
It's completely unsurprising that the sight of her makes him smile like a giddy idiot. ]
Caroline.
[ Next comes the biggest, tightest hug ever. God has he missed her. ]

It's good to see you.

Better to see you.
[ Because really, what is there to see here? Not much, according to him. ]

hopefully this works?
Caroline never really had Stefan's binging problem. In fact, if there was anything she was known for, it was her self-control. But after a few centuries of loving, losing, and protecting her own her standards on killing people were a little more lax, and her ideas of what she should or shouldn't do have gotten a little more hazy.
Which is probably one of the reasons why she's in New Orleans. She's built herself enough of a reputation in Europe that when she walks down the streets they know better than to mess with her, and while Klaus promised to stay away from her ...
... Well. She never promised to stay away from him.
Which is why she's currently sitting in what she's told is his favorite bar, nursing a drink and taking in the sights. New Orleans is an interesting city. Maybe she could hang out here for a little while.]
because these vampires so don't speak josspire :D

Apparently, it is.
Running off to LA is not all it was cracked up to be, especially considering it's hard to become a club girl when you can't actually, you know, find the clubs.
Lame.
Regardless, Caroline has wandered into one of the "bad" parts of town in search of drinks, dancing and good times, and she's found herself cornered by some really ugly looking vampires. At least, they look like vampires. But she so hopes that she doesn't wind up with bumpy foreheads when she gets older.]
Look, you really don't want to do this.
[One of them cackles before reaching in closer to grab her arm.]
Don't worry, sweetie. I'm sure you'll go down nice and smooth.
[Watch Caroline take that really badly. Her fangs extend, her eyes darken, and she twists the vampire's arm off her with a force that she can hear snap the bone of his arm. The vampire screams in pain, and she glares at all of them.]
As I said. You really don't want to do that.

Aww you guys never wait up for me. I ain't as young as I used to be, but you know I still got it! [ then he spots caroline, an obviously new kind of creature, and his ego falters. gunn fights the urge to step back and away, instead choosing to scowl and nod toward her. vampire crosses his mind, but-- well, she's obviously not what he's used to. and she clearly doesn't like LA's standard fare of vamp. point in her favor, there. ] And you made a new friend without me? C'mon, guys! I thought we were besties...
[ he punctuates that by attacking the second closest vampire, the one-armed wonder who was trying to creep away. it's short work, so that he can try and figure out what to do with the newbie. ]
no subject
This guy was clearly a hunter. She just hoped that table leg wasn't heading for her next.
Her fangs recede, her eyes turn back to their normal blue, and she turns back to face him with a bit of a huff.]
I had it.
[there's a beat.]
But thank you.

It doesn't help that Caroline doesn't really want to be here. Her mom got transferred for whatever reason, and while she fought tooth and nail to stay in Mystic Falls, her mom was her mom.
So she packed up her vampire butt and moved to Sunnydale. Where people were even weirder and tended to go missing. No wonder why they wanted her mom.
She mostly goes through her days on autopilot, attending classes and focusing on her academics more than anything else, but she can't deny that it gets lonely. And there's something about this town that doesn't feel right.
She just wishes she could put her finger on what it was.]
no subject
At first, Xander is suspicious. New kids and Sunnydale High usually spelled scooby business. Let's face it, not just new kids but new teachers, too. It's a small enough town, though, to know that Caroline moved here with her mom and that her mom is Sunnydale's new sheriff. Buffy even says that Joyce and Caroline's mom are getting along. And she's happy because her mom needs a friend besides creepy, all too nice Pat who really needs a new haircut.
Not that Xander follows why that would be. He's repeating what Buffy's said.
It's the day that Buffy disappears during lunch and Willow is somewhere else when he realizes he could sit by himself or he could join the girl who's sitting where Buffy, Willow and he usually do. So, he sits across from her on the small couch. Except as he's about to, three Cordettes take their place, so now there's just Caroline's couch. He can suave this up. ]
Hey, is this seat -- can I -- free seat? [ The most suave. ]

They still exist, or at least that's what she's told. They just aren't really seen in Mystic Falls anymore. There also aren't "new people" that are there for "no reason" so when a guy and someone she can only assume is his son wander into Mystic Falls, she is on the case to try and figure out who they are.
She waits until the kid moves off to the pool tables, watching him for a moment before wandering over and picking up one of the pool cues.]
Need a second?

Late at night, they discuss her. Every now and then. He gets them rooms with twin beds even though Isaac says he doesn't need a bed. He knows rooms with one bed are cheaper. Chris doesn't care.
He doesn't say goodbye to anyone.
After driving up to Oregon, Chris leaves the car with family and he and Isaac board a plane. He's never been outside of California. To Isaac, Virginia is flat. And boring. When Chris tells him to watch his back and not to go out at night without him, Isaac just thinks he's being overdramatic. (This is Chris Argent, so how could he not know there'd be reason to keep a lower profile.)
Chris is off, meeting a contact of his. Chris is always pretty cagey. But, Isaac never asks. He never needs to know. He's capable of taking care of himself and he has a plate of fries.
He's used to playing games alone. When your brother dies when you're young and your father ceases to care about your well being, you end up doing things by yourself. It's a status quo he needs no adjusting to. So, when he racks the balls, he's not expecting for anyone to talk to him. It's been a week and not one person has.
She's... well, there's only one word that works and that's hot. Isaac uses the word often but it fits. He doesn't hesitate to respond. ]
You good? [ Isaac's not, but that cocky side of him still exists. It helps with pushing down the pain and loss. ]
no subject
[She shrugs a bit as she moves back to the head of the table. Playing pool is a time-honored past time in Mystic Falls. It's one of the things they do the most to pass the time. She's not going to let Isaac get away from it that easily.]
Besides, it's better than playing yourself.

at least he managed to damage his teleportation device, stopping him from making another jump. jack's chased him through various building on four different continents.
that's a lot of steps to retrace later; a lot of retcon to administer and a lot of cctv to erase. ]
legacies era for flavor
Well, why is anyone at Wal-Mart at two in the morning. She's out of booze.
While she isn't as much of an alcoholic as some of her vampiric brethren, she still uses it for all the normal reasons: because she's bored, because she's lonely, because she's got blood cravings and won't be able to hit the blood bank until tomorrow. Standard operating fare for a creature of the night.
She's rounding the corner out of the liquor aisle, a few bottles in hand, when she's suddenly smacked into out of nowhere, sending her spinning backwards. (It's her fault, she should have been paying attention.)
Losing grip on one of the bottles and it smashes at her feet, sending whiskey and glass everywhere. She throws her hands up as she surveys the mess, but the person who hit her just keeps going. She turns to the retreating back and glares.]
Are you kidding me?!
[A burst of vampire speed carries her to the space in front of Jack's sycorax, pushing one hand against it's chest as she shoves it back.]
When you bump into someone, you say you're -
[It's at that point when she catches sight of the creatures face and realizes that's not your every day asshole human. In fact, it's very much not human at all, and the first thing that springs to mind is:]
Malivore monster.
no subject
[ not a golem, if his knowledge serves him correctly. he doesn't yet question how this woman managed to get ahead of the sycorax or stop him from fleeing, for him being stopped is far more important right now than adding to his growing list of cctv footage he needs to eradicate from every walmart system. cameras everywhere that couldn't always be disabled or overridden ahead of time was one of the worst parts of doing his job in the 21st century. cctv footage was as helpful as it was dangerous. ]
Escaped convict, [ he says to her, then to him, keeping his weapon trained on him: ] You're lucky I agreed to pursue you myself. You could have had a mob of angry Judoon trailing after you. Where would you rather be, in their custody or mine?
no subject
Sycorax. Filing that way to call Dorian about later.
She's more impressed that he's talking to her like he thinks she won't remember this later. Is that what they sound like when they just start talking in front of someone they're going to compel later?
She glances between the two of them before glancing to the Sycorax.]
I think he's talking to you. And I don't know what the Judoon are but maybe you should take his offer.

maybe og chicago? | also i couldn't get this image out of my head
She was supposed to get married today. It was supposed to be the happiest day of her life. She actually made it to the altar, which is a miracle, but it's after that that everything went horribly wrong. For one, Katherine crashed her wedding. Expected, but still annoying. Two, her groom ran off to deal with it, and then decided to sacrifice himself for the greater good. Three, she fell through a hole in time and space and wound up in an alternate version of Chicago from her own.
She's still wrapping her head around number three, if she's honest. That required some alcohol. Fortunately, she met a very nice woman from an actual fantasy world who happened to be a queen with a dragon (she is already one of the coolest people Caroline has ever met) who was able to lead her to the nearest bar.
She probably should have changed out of her wedding dress first, but whiskey waits for no woman and it's not like she has anything to change into anyway.]
I'm sorry.
[She eventually says, a few drinks in.]
You probably didn't sign up for babysitting a drunk bride today.
[A beat.]
Wait. Widow, actually. Technically I am a widow. A bride and a widow in the same day. How depressing.
