[Caroline glances over sympathetically. Oh, honey. But thankfully Caroline has a workaround for these things.]

[She reaches for one of the salt packets she picked up for her lunch and handing it over to him.]

Put it on the stain. It'll keep it from setting before you can wash it.

[ He takes it from her before sitting back down. Standing and applying salt might be a big mistake. Then, carefully ripping it open, he pours some out onto the stain. The jelly itself is gone, but the spot is there. ] Should I ... cold water? [ A beat. ] For the stain?

[She nods.]

Yeah, later. Cold water and liquid detergent.

[ He sets the salt down... on the window sill to his left. ]

You're a lifesaver. A shirt-saver. You shaved my shirt. Saved. [ His shirt. ] I'm going to keep that tip in mind. My parents never really instilled tale manners or really, any kind of manners in me. They altogether skipped that chapter on parenting and etiquette and life. [ What. Why would you, crap. ] Not that I don't have manners! I have a slew of manners. I'm manners guy. I make sure to say both please and thank you. And I hold doors open for pretty girls. And -- all girls. And guys. I hold doors open. I'm a door holder.

[ Somebody stop him, he looks away and mouths to himself. He should just run far far away. ]

[Caroline is just going to stare at him for a moment, chin resting in her hands.]

It's more I can't stop. [ Whoops. ]

[She nods a bit in agreement.]

Usually that isn't a problem for me unless I'm drunk.

It's always a problem with me.

I'm guessing that impulse control is probably a problem for you too?

... On the regular. But, hey, I know I mean well and I don't ever ...I have common sense.

[ She's amused. And is greatly doubtful of that common sense right now. ]

I do. Ask any -- ask two very close friends of mine and a sometimes bitter ex, I have all the common sense!

[She smirks.]

Perfect? No. But I do try to keep things somewhat sensible.

[Sucked dry? That's definitely a curious way of putting things. But she'll poke at that later.]
