[Barry glances up and there's a bit of stammering that basically amounts to "gotta go" as he hangs up with Cisco before he straightens with a smile.]

Hey. Barry.

[And there's that bit of awkward before he regains his footing and sticks out his hand to her.]

Allen. Barry Allen, I'm helping out with Palmer Tech's display.

Sorry! I didn't mean to interrupt. I was just-- trying to introduce myself to all of the different companies and I realized I hadn't... checked Palmer Tech off my list. [Her smile is still a bi strained.]

So... how long have you worked for the company?

I ... don't.

[He gives a half laugh because that sounds really weird, and he turns to face the display one hand coming up to rub against the back of his neck.]

I work for the CCPD but Ray and I go way back and he always has the coolest toys, so when he asked if I wanted to come along and help out, I couldn't say no.

[A beat.]

But he gave me a complete crash course on the way here so anything you want to know, I'm your guy.

You're a cop? [The surprise in her voice is more than evident by the slight squeak at the end. Superhero and a cop? Sounds like double duty. Somehow it makes less sense to her than being a reporter and a hero. Clearly her way makes way more sense... except not really.]

Not ... exactly. Technically, I'm a CSI. I collect and process the evidence and stuff. It's ... a lot of science. But no badge, no gun, none of that.

[Barry's always been determined to help people, especially with his mother's case remaining unsolved (or at least unsolved for him). He's not exactly built to be a cop - at least he wasn't prior to becoming the Flash - but he knows science.

Science is awesome.]

Slightly less cool than being an actual cop but I like it.

What? No- totally as cool as being a cop. Cooler, maybe.

[She's rambling. About nothing. Breathe, Kara.]

I'm guessing you've seen some interesting stuff since you guys have your own superhero and everything. Must make for some crazy cases.

[He gives a bit of an awkward smile, because it still feels so weird to talk about the Flash in third person when he's ... you know, the Flash.]

Oh yeah. I mean ... metahumans and stuff can make things ... really crazy. But we're figuring it out.

I bet. [She rocks on the balls of her feet, trying to think of how to ask without asking.]

So have you ever... seen him? The Flash?

Have I ... seen him?

[There's a moment where he looks briefly flustered before it melts into something a little more cocky as he stammers through his response.]

Yeah, I mean I've ... caught glimpses and stuff, but he's ... sort of hard to pin down. He is the Flash.

Oh. Right. That makes sense. [She nods, realizing that this is getting her a whole lot of nowhere. How do you superhero network without giving yourself away???]

He and Supergirl would make a pretty good team, I think.

[His eyebrows go up a bit at that with wide smile, because hey, that would be pretty cool.]

You think? I don't know she's ... pretty badass, and from what I've heard the Flash isn't exactly bullet-proof.

Yeah, but- teamwork isn't about everyone having the same skills. It's about being- [She tries to think of how she wants to phrase it] complimentary.

[He tips his head to the side, considering for a moment before nodding, because she's right.]

You're right. That would definitely be a team up I would love to see.

[Annnd just as he says that, there's a noise from the other end of the floor. Machines coming to liiiiife. Oh no! This is such quality rp that you get from me. Wow.

Kara, glances over, alarmed.]

What..?

[And they're not actually Ray's machines! This is progress! Barry stares baffled for a moment, before one of the robots comes flying at them both and Barry leaps into action! By grabbing Kara and dragging her behind the Palmer Tech booth as the robot dives over their heads and collides with the wall behind them.

She's not looking at him, so he takes the opportunity while he has it.]

Stay here. I'm going to get help.

[And then zoom! He's gone.]

Wait-! [Buf he's nowhere to be found! How?? Well... Maybe that answers her question. But Kara can't think about it. She just zooms off herself so that she can get to her bag with her emergency change of clothes. Hair down! Glasses off! Okay, good to go. Running back out onto the floor in full Supergirl glory, she tries to assess the situation.

But yknow... When all else fails, just punch it til it stops moving.]

[AND HERE THE FLASH COMES TO ... HOLY CRAP IT'S SUPERGIRL.

Barry skids to a stop as he zooms in in his red suit and he just ... stares at her for a moment because she really is that badass and SUPERGIRL but he won't linger for long. Soon, he'll start zipping around, gently moving patrons out of the way before try to snatch some of the robots out of the sky and batting them down to crash.]

[Okay see suspicions confirmed!!! At least, she thinks so. Hard to be 100% sure when there's a mask involved but... Right, more important things happening right now!

She's thankful to him for getting people out of here at least. Sometimes she doesn't think about that part in favor of trying to take down the bad guys. Speaking of, there's a big ol robot lumbering over towards the center of the convention hall.]

Easy does it...

[She mutters under her breath, trying to assess her best chance at taking it down.]

[Barry zooms into place next to her once all the civilians have been cleared, looking up at him, and speaking finally, but he doesn't quite sound like he did before.]

What do you think? I go low, you go high?

[She blinks at that voice. Well, now she doesn't know what to think. But it's time to focus on the important stuff. She glances back at their robot friend and nods.]

Just make sure you're clear of the fall zone. I hear you aren't exactly bullet proof.

[And with that little hint?? Maybe?? She zips off into the air, using some super strength to try to disable his visual sensors and disable whatever weapons his arms have going on.]

[That ... is very interesting and his head tips to the side at that, but he's already using his suit to call Felicity and Ray to see what insight they can give him to how the robot works. He aims for the joints and the circuit boards, pulling out whatever he can before zooming back out of the fall zone.]

Okay! Bring it down nice and easy.

[As he disables parts of it, she can see the lights dimming. The robot starts to fall on its own so she grabs it (with one hand...) and slowly lowers it down to the ground. There's a soft thud as it settles and she dusts off her hands, looking around.]

Well- that was exciting.

[He grins at her in return, before nodding.]

Yeah, that was fun. I always prefer team work when I have the chance.

[And he makes those chances, whenever he sees fit.]

I don't always get the opportunity, so this was a nice change of pace.

[She has a smile to match his.]

I guess we were lucky you just happened to be in the area.

Guess we were. If you're ever in Central City, feel free to drop in and help.

[Because it was totally luck and not coincidence where people will have the opportunity to try and look into his secret identity.

That is, until Felicity's running into the thankfully empty room with Ray and yelling "Barry!"

And Barry has to try not facepalm. Thanks Felicity.]
