All I've got is water right now. Sorry. Haven't had much time for shopping lately with the whole...double life thing.

[She brings over two glasses and sits on the other side of the couch he's on.]

Water is fine. It's just, the downside to the whole super speed thing is that it also comes with a super enhanced metabolism. I have to eat like ... all the time in order to not pass out like an idiot, so I thought pizza would be a good choice.

Oh, wow. That had to be fun to figure out the hard way. [She makes a sympathetic face.]

My metabolism moves faster too but...not that fast. Just fast enough to make my sister jealous of how often I can have donuts for breakfast.

[supertardiness]

[He laughs a bit at that before nodding.]

Yeah, but I've got a friend who makes me these super high calorie protein bars so can get the fuel I need but not look like a complete fat ass which I appreciate.

[Then there's a beat because he really has to ask.]

So ... are you really from another planet?

[She ducks her gaze, laughing and tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.]

Disappointed that I'm not green?

[His mouth works for a moment before shaking his head.]

No! No, I had ... no preconceptions at all. I mean, with metahumans you never know what you're going to get, so I figure the same has to be said for aliens too, right? But, I mean ... it must have been crazy, coming to a whole new world that's so different from yours.

It was... Not easy. But my adoptive family were really supportive. I had a lot of help learning to adjust.

What about you? Have you always been as fast as you are?

[supertardiness]

[There's a half-laugh before he shakes his head.]

No, not at all. I uh, I was struck by lightning, when the particle accelerator exploded at STAR Labs. After that I was in a coma for nine months, but when I woke up ... I was the fastest man alive.

[myvictories]

Oh. That sounds... Well, not awful because you seem okay now, but... [She clearly isn't entirely sure how to react.]

Do you like it? Having powers?

[supertardiness]

[Yeah, he knows that it's a lot. He still feels how much it is when he realizes how much he missed while he was sleeping.]

Most of the time? Yeah, it's awesome. I can do things that other people can't. But at the same time ... there's limits. I can't always help all the people I want to help or save all the people I want to save.

Super speed doesn't solve every problem.

[myvictories]

Boy, don't I know it. [She huffs out a sigh.]

But it's...good. It feels good to help where I can.

[supertardiness]

[He nods and smiles in agreement.]

Yeah, same here. And we're still learning about metahumans, so it helps to have a metahuman fighting against them.

Well, hopefully showing up here won't put you on the radar for any alien problems as well. Last thing you need is double duty.

[supertardiness]

[He shakes his head.]

I hope not.

[There's a beat and then he smirks.]

But if it does, that means you could always come visit me in Central City.

[...she's totally not blushing. Nope not at all.]

Well, I guess I could. It would only be right to return the favor.

[That just makes him grin more, before leaning back against the couch.]

My team basically consists of my three best friends. We all gotta start somewhere, and it should be with people you trust. This isn't the kind of thing we should do alone.

[She nods in agreement.]

I can't imagine doing it on my own. I don't know how my cousin managed it for as long as he did.

[He was pretty intense about being a lone wolf for a time okay.]

The Arrow did too. He's getting better at being a team player, though. At least, when we manage to force him into it.

Oh? I didn't realize you were the kind of guy to strong arm someone into it. [She's sort of teasing at least.]

I'm not, usually. But I make an exception with him - if you don't, he won't even bother to try.

Why not? [She doesn't know a lot about the Arrow. Probably for this exact reason.]

He's got a lot of trust issues. Like ... major trust issues. He's very sensitive about his identity.

And you're not? I mean- you don't exactly advertise who you are.
