[no, seriously, he didn't. the conversation just started getting a little too uncomfortable for his tastes, his heritage not something he's ashamed of but something he's learned to play close to the vest, like his secret identity, and so he just kept running with it. it turns into a joke, if you keep playing it up. congratulations, you're the 100th customer! you win a prize! ... or something] Like seriously, no, but ...

No, I get it.

[Not in a huge sense, because white girl, but social justice is kind of her thing, so she's informed enough to understand what he's getting at.]

But I'm glad you told me.

[If for no other reason than she's glad that he felt comfortable enough sharing it, which means he trusts her, and that is a good feeling.]

[wingdinging]

[Dick relaxes a little, glad this isn't going to turn into an argument over his inability to shut up, sometimes, and nods once, twice, more times than is necessary] Yeah, sure. [a beat] And thanks. [for not taking him the wrong way, for not freaking out, whatever]

[prosecutorial]

Anytime.

[And she does mean that. She shifts to settle against him a little more, resting her head against his shoulder as her attention returns to the movie.]

[wingdinging]

[Dick shifts, too, tilting his head to rest against hers as he lapses back into silence, movie picking up again. he holds her like that, more or less, until a few minutes beyond its end, as he digests, and then:] Okay, I think we're good on the palette cleanser. [which is to say he doesn't need it. that was good]

Good.

[She smiles a bit as she looks up at him.]

But that does mean we have some newly freed time. Whatever will we do with it?

[Laurel Lance: Terrible at Flirting, so not the good kind of terrible flirt.]

[wingdinging]

Hm. [covering his mouth with a hand, he proceeds to look mock-thoughtful. the expression remains, even when he pulls his hand away again] I don't know. [a beat] I might have a couple of ideas, but ... [but they might not be very good ones]

[ ... look, if they're doing the whole bad flirting, he's totally going all in]

[prosecutorial]

[As well he should, because she laughs before holding out her hands in front of her.]

I am open to all suggestions.

[Even the bad ones. Let's put them out there.]

[wingdinging]

Weeeeeeellllll ... [he makes a show of stretching, of putting his arm around her -- or readjusting his arm around her, anyway. still, he's going for the old, bad yawn and cuddle move] I could maybe do this ... [and that said and done, he's going to lean in to kiss her if she'll let him]

[prosecutorial]

[Oh she will definitely let him. In fact, she was very much hoping that this was where his line of thought was going, so she curls into him with a smile, one hand coming up to brush against his cheek.]

[wingdinging]

[he hums at the touch, pleased by it, and endeavors to pull her that much closer. it's probably a physical impossibility, at this point, mind, without her ending up in his lap, but -- yeah, okay, he wouldn't mind that, if that's where this ends up going. either way, this is good]

[prosecutorial]

[Laps are good. Laurel is totally okay with being in his lap, and she slides her way over so that she's straddling his waist and winds her arms around his neck.]

[wingdinging]

[Dick makes another pleased sound, and continues to kiss her for several seconds. when he finally needs to come up for air, he stays close, his forehead pressed against hers, his eyes closed and a smile on his lips]

[after a beat, though, that smile turns to a smirk, and softly, he offers:] You know, I used to be an acrobat ... [he still is, the way he moves while fighting as Nightwing, but that's not the point. the point he's making is that they could have some really acrobatic sex, never mind the fact that he's (about half) teasing, building on the whole bad pickup lines portion of the evening]

[She laughs a bit at that, because while she was aware of his past, she can imagine where his mind was going there.]

I remember. I take it you have some suggestions?

[wingdinging]

[he tilts his head one way, then another, forehead still brushing hers]

I could think of a few things, depending on how committed to Sparkle Motion you wanna get, yeah. [he could also think of some straight, vanilla things, if she's actually, honestly into going here]

[She considers for a moment, and while she can be curious and adventurous, and she's definitely not scared of new things, she's not quite sure how acrobatic he means.]

We could start with the easy stuff and work our way up, depending?

[It doesn't hurt to try new things.]

[wingdinging]

[he's not going to suspend her upside down and expect her to go at it like that, the first time around. he'll break her in easy]

[that in mind, and a little less sleazily and a little more seriously, he asks:] You trust me enough to carry you? [because he has visions, now, of her wrapping herself around his waist and them finding a wall for leverage and going from there]

[She smiles a bit at that, before nodding her agreement. That is at least somewhat in her wheelhouse, so she's definitely comfortable with starting there.]

I do. I think that's very attractive, actually.

[wingdinging]

Okay, cool.

[and that said, he's going to readjust his grip on her so that he can gather her into his arms as he gets to his feet. it's not the most conductive position to making out, the way he's carrying her, now, but they can adjust as they go. he can support her so she can literally climb him like a tree]

[prosecutorial]

[That is perfect really, because she'll just hop up to make things easier on him, winding her legs around his waist as he takes her wherever he wants to go. She trusts him, and trusts he's not going to toss her out a window, so as far as she's concerned, she'll just lean into the kiss and let go, trust wise, for a little while.]

[wingdinging]

[well, that's convenient and he didn't even have to ask. humming approval, he carries her towards the kitchen, solidly and without breaking the kiss. he backs her up against a wall, letting it help act as support, even if he's still got her, and then and only then does he pull away]

Still good?

[he figures she might be, given the way she mounted him, but checking in with your partner is fun, kids]

[prosecutorial]

[She nods in agreement with a small smile, because yes, checking with your partner is very good.]

Perfect.

[And then she leans in to kiss him again, one hand coming up to slide her fingers through his hair as she sinks into the kiss.]

[wingdinging]

Cool.

[and as he leans into the kiss, he's going to take one hand off of her, trusting the wall and the way she's wrapped around him to balance some of her weight, and reach for the hem of her shirt. because, you know, that needs to go, if they're gonna do this]

[prosecutorial]

[That is a very good point. She easily shifts with his hand, pushing back from the wall just enough to pull the shirt over her head and letting it drop to the floor next to them. She then moves to do the same with his, because they're going for some mutual nakedness here.]

[wingdinging]

[he shifts, twisting to help her help him out of his shirt while still supporting her. once they've both managed that, and as he leans back in to work on her bra, he laughs, the sound low, and warm in both senses of the word, self-deprecatingly amused and right at the shell of her ear]

[his voice is much the same as he tells her:] Y'know, I should've thought about this before we got to this point. [because pants are going to be hard to do, without unhooking. still potentially doable, mind, but they'll take a little more finagling, acrobatically, and he promised to go easy on her]
