"There is." Not all of it good, a lot of it bad actually. She's not sure if she should tell Freya about what a monster Niklaus became over the years -- she seems so excited to hear about her family. Perhaps she'll focus more on Elijah.

"What do you want to know?" In a thousand years of history it can be hard to know where to start.

[deathlessness]

It can be, but she's willing to take it brother by brother. And the ones she cares about more are the older ones anyway. "Let's ... start with Finn? Is he well?" Finn, unfortunately for Freya, was her favorite brother, and she would be most concerned with his well-being.

[easily]

Rebekah frowns, as that is one of the nastier answers. "Incapacitated, last I knew. Niklaus has these daggers he can use on the rest of us. Finn has been in his coffin for a long time."

Something she sometimes felt guilty about but didn't dare act on in case Klaus turned the dagger on her.

[deathlessness]

Her brow furrows for a moment. She hadn't spent enough time around her family in the early 1910s to really get a sense of things. She knew that Kol was messing around with alchemy, but she never had the chance to learn the specifics of what for before she was trapped as well, by her brother's conniving hand.

"Why would he do that to his own family?"

[easily]

"Because Niklaus has become consistently more paranoid and hateful over time. He is the most mosterous of all of us." The worst of it Rebekah had not even been aware of until recently.

[deathlessness]

Freya frowns, before shaking his head. "Time isn't kind to all of us. It can be hard to hold on to your humanity when you don't live by human rules."

[easily]

"It can be. It isn't easy for him, having both natures to wrestle with either." And Esther suppressing his wolf for so long hadn't helped either.

[deathlessness]

She pauses for a moment tipping her head to the side as she reconciles the information she already knows about her family beyond their existence. "Because he is both a werewolf and a vampire, yes?"

[easily]

"Correct. And apparently he manages to break our mother's curse on him." She had yet to experience that for herself, but why would Stefan lie to her?

[deathlessness]

"That I heard about," she says with a slow nod. "My memories of shortly before I arrived here are a bit ... fuzzy, but I heard something about a curse being broken. It seemed to cause ... quite a few ripples."

[easily]

"I imagine it would. I have yet to experience it myself, but my boyfriend." She indicates back down to deer!Stefan. "Told me about it."

[deathlessness]

She nods slowly. "I believe things only got more complicated from there for our family. But I do know that you've returned to New Orleans."

[easily]

"Did we?" There's a pang of guilt at that. "I was the reason we left, you know."

[deathlessness]

"I didn't," she says, shaking her head. "I only know that that is where our family had settled, and Klaus is currently picking a fight with the French Quarter witches."

[easily]

She snorts a little. "That's not surprising. Nik picks a fight with anyone and everyone, given the chance to do so."

[deathlessness]

She smirks slightly at that. "Not that I can blame him, really. They're currently being led by a witch possessed by the spirit of our mother."

[easily]

"You make that sound like a bad thing." This Rebekah has never experienced the atrocities Esther put on her children. To her, it's just her mother.

[deathlessness]

Freya pauses awkwardly for a moment, unsure how to proceed before saying, gently. "Well, she is ... organizing them to move against him - along with the werewolves of the quarter."

[easily]

"After what he did to her, after what he did to all of us, I can't completely blame her."

[deathlessness]

And what about what she did to us is part of what she wants to say, but she agreed to leave their parents off the table for now. She nods once, before glancing back over her shoulder.

"I wish I could tell you more, but I was only just waking up when I came here."

[easily]

"That's fine. It's probably better I don't know too much." She's not ever going to back home to it, after all.

[deathlessness]

"It's probably for the best." And she glances around for a moment, before turning back to her. "Perhaps you can show me around here instead? If we are not to return home, then it's probably best I get acquainted with the rest of Chicago."

[easily]

Rebekah smiles and nods. "I can. I should drop him off at the apartment first though." She gestures to poor deer!Stefan.

[deathlessness]

Freya nods in agreement. "That would probably be for the best. I am going to have to find a place to stay myself."

[easily]

"I can help you, if you want." It's the least she could do.
