[Hana stumbles off the boat and into Chicago and she isn't really sure how much time has passed in the real world. If ... Chicago counts as the real world. She stumbles back into the middle of Grant Park and it's the middle of the night, but she doesn't really care.

She just wants to go find her boyfriend. Going home is something she can deal with later.

She scrambles up the fire escape the way she usually does and instead of rapping on Miri's window she knocks on Rafe's instead.

Hi, soon-to-be-boyfriend. Please let her in.]

[ rafe doesn't have a normal sleep schedule. as an angel, he doesn't need much sleep as it is. four hours and he's always good to go. he's watching a playthrough of his favorite survival game on youtube when he hears the knock on his window.

he's expecting leo, and he is very, very glad he is wrong. ... and also glad he's not wearing inappropriate boxers. ]

[Her smile is eager in return and before she can remember the fact that before she was on the boat she and Rafe were still trying to figure themselves out, that she's never even kissed him before, she's leaning in to kiss him softly, more out of habit than anything else.]

[ rafe's eyebrows shoot up in surprise, and his reaction is delayed. he knows he's supposed to close his eyes, but a part of him is wondering if he is dreaming. he is very much convinced this might be a dream. which doesn't mean he won't take advantage of it while he's here.

helplessly, he melts into the kiss, eyes finally closing. ]

[She holds the kiss for a moment, but it doesn't escape her his reaction to it. She realizes that she somehow managed to goof up their timeline again, skipping ahead because that's what she expected, but at the same time, it doesn't really matter.

She always wanted to do that anyway. Even before she went to the boat.

Impulse isn't really a bad thing.

She holds the kiss for another moment longer, before pulling back with a small smile.]

I just wanted to do that.

[ in the end, it doesn't really matter to rafe, too.

there's a certainty, deep in his bones, that whatever the timeline, they're meant to be together. and it feels so natural to kiss her, however many times he has done so, that it's easy to sink into it for as long as she allows it to continue.

when she pulls back, he looks enraptured by her. ]
