"Turns out giant cat people don't like wolves, who knew?" He says it flippantly enough -- but yeah. He can't help but grin a little in response. "It has been a while."

"So how're things? How's Caroline? You guys are still together, right?" He doesn't mean in the together sense, because that's just a given, kind of like Zach and Kelly or Bender and Claire where the fact that they're together is just that. A fact. But the rifts, however, are another thing entirely, and they do not often agree with the true love that only teenage coming of age dramas can provide.

[lockwood]

"We are. I mean, the rifts have seperated us for a bit, but we'll find one another." It's kind of like the Snow and Charming thing, they always find one another in the end.

[pwnspatrickjane]

Yes, good. That's exactly what Shawn wants to here. "That's good, man. I'm glad." There's a pause as he makes a hard left down the street before glancing back to him. "Do you think this is how we're going to be forever? Just bouncing through universes until we find each other again?"

[lockwood]

Tyler considers that for a moment before shrugging his shoulders. "Maybe. It seems pretty probable."

It's kind of weird, but also kind of cool in it's own way.

"Nice," Shawn nods in agreement. "At least we know we'll always see each other again." Which is better than thinking they'll never see each other at all. The world is much too lonely for it to be like that. "It just might take longer than others."

[lockwood]

"Which is better than never ever." Which is how things had felt like when Chicago and that world like imploded on itself.

[pwnspatrickjane]

"Exactly," Shawn agrees with a nod, starting to slow when it seems like they've lost the cat people, peering through the windshield to get a better look at things. "This place is actually kind of cool. Kind of like a Sherlock Holmes movie."

[lockwood]

"Since when do Sherlock Holmes movies have rampant cat people in them?" He asks, quirking a confused brow at that. Sometimes he doesn't get where you come up with things, Shawn.

[pwnspatrickjane]

Shawn's brain is a magical place, Tyler. That's how. Without even skipping a beat, he's already got an answer on hand. "Maybe it was an adaptation made for a cat people planet. Sherlock is a tempermental sphynix while John Watson is an affectionate striped tabby. And they fight crime, for the cat people of Victorian Cat London."

[lockwood]

"Sometimes, I am really scared by the way your mind works, you do know that, right?" But it's said in a mostly affectionate manner, because really -- it's kind of funny.

[pwnspatrickjane]

He grins back at him for a moment, before giving a shrug. "I just like to keep it open to possibilities."

[lockwood]

"And those possibilities just happen to involve cat people adaptions of Sherlock Holmes?"

[pwnspatrickjane]

"The universe is a strange and magical place." And you can't tell him that cat people don't exist, Tyler, given what you just experienced. They probably enjoy movies just as much as normal people do.

[lockwood]

"It's a strange one, that's for sure." It's true, he can't deny the existence of Cat People. But a cat version of Sherlock Holmes? Come on, everyone knows if he's any animal it's a mouse. Tyler's seen the Great Mouse Detective okay? He knows.

[pwnspatrickjane]

Well, Tyler, that's just speciesist. Maybe cat people want a version of Sherlock Holmes that they can identify with. Mice can't hold a monopoly on it. Besides, the cat people would probably just want to eat the mouse anyway, how would they get any work done?

"Definitely not as awesome as the time Bonnie and I went to space, but still kind of cool in its own way."

[lockwood]

Whoops. He'll work on not being bias against cat people. But he's canine at heart so it might be a lost cause.

"I went to Narnia with Elena once -- that was interesting."

[pwnspatrickjane]

That's probably true. Cats and dogs are not supposed to get along after all.

"Dude, that is awesome. I would have killed to go to Narina." He glances back over at him with a wide grin. "I always wound up in places like Clown College. Though that one time we landed in Mario Land was pretty cool."

[lockwood]

"Mario land was definitely a highlight," Tyler agrees with a grin of his own. "I got stuck on an island filled with monsters once -- that was a less fun time"

[pwnspatrickjane]

"Most of my monster sightings happened in Chicago, not outside of it. I got lucky that way when it came to rabbit holes." Which he is not going to knock, all things considered. "Except for the dinosaurs."

[lockwood]

"See, that's when I did get lucky -- Caroline and I got sent on a tropical vacation during all that."

[pwnspatrickjane]

"Dude, they were awesome. And terrifying. But if you were from far enough away, it was mostly awesome." At least Shawn didn't manage to get chased by anything too dangerous.

[lockwood]

"I'll take you word for it on that." But overall he can't say he's sad he missed it.

[pwnspatrickjane]

He probably shouldn't be. Shawn's fascination with them is probably the exception to the rule. Most people were terrified - and rightly so. Shawn just nods, before continuing to bounce along. "I wonder of Luna could have communicated with them. Her Rift power was talking to animals."

[lockwood]

"I don't think I knew Luna." Chicago was a big city, after all.
