Shawn goes easily where he's tugged, not resisting - never resisting, really. Jules could lead him over the edge of a cliff and he would probably follow her, complaining about his serious fear of dying the entire time. But he also trusts her enough to know that she wouldn't do that.

Not unless he really deserved it.

They make their way to the base of the ferris wheel and Shawn looks up, up, up before nodding his approval and shoving the last of the funnel cake in his face. "Do we need tickets?" which comes out more like "Pe wo joow tingots?" but he's pretty sure Jules knows what he means.

She would never. Unless he really, really deserved it, but even then it wouldn't be a very high cliff. That's true love, right there.

Jules is already thinking one step ahead, purchasing the tickets from the vendor nearby -- since Shawn never has any cash on him, as already established -- while Shawn inspects the ferris wheel and eats the last of his funnel cake. She returns to his side just in time to make use of her Shawn-with-his-mouth-full to English dictionary.

"Taken care of." Brandishing the newly bought tickets, she reaches for his hand again and tugs them over to the line leading up to the ride, which is thankfully very short. "Oh, think they'll let us pick which color car we want?"

"I think they would be fools not to," Shawn says in agreement, letting her lead him up to the ride and falling into place at the end of the line. As they wait, his fingers link through hers, holding on as he studies each of the cars to judge them for suitability. It's hard to tell which one it will be, but he thinks they're all kinds of possibilities.

"What color do you want?"

Giving Shawn a sidelong glance and a fond smile, she curls her fingers against his hand and squeezes gently. She still isn't entirely over marveling how naturally these little gestures came to them.

Returning her attention to the ferris wheel, she gives the question its due consideration with a pensive little hum, tipping her head a little as she studies the available cars. She'd be all too obvious to go with the pink, so after a moment she announces, "I think the green one would be nice."

"Green it is." He takes her hand and leads her towards the front of the line, and a few minutes later, they're rising slowly into the air, letting the entirety of the carnival stretch out below them. He shifts a bit, sliding his arm around her shoulders and pulling her closer.

"Not a bad place to stop."

"I start to see the appeal," she agrees with a smile, hardly needing much coaxing to lean against his side. Taking in the vista below, she breathes in awe, "Look at this view! It's so pretty."

"Yeah, it is." He gives her a smile as he settles back into the seat more. "I could definitely handle sticking around here for a while." They probably won't. The rift will pick them up again, and they may or may not be able to stay together, but for right now, they are. And that's all that matters.

The ferris wheel creeks to the top, and he just sits back to enjoy this time with his girlfriend.

"Yeah," she concurs with a little sigh of contentment, following Shawn's movement almost unconsciously and snuggling a bit closer to him still. "I hope we get to."

But like Shawn, she knows the odds aren't on their side. But they have here and now. Touring the universes teaches one to enjoy the moment to the fullest, if nothing else. With that in mind, she lays her head on Shawn's shoulder.

Shawn nods a bit in agreement, and with that, they let the wheel carry them around again and again, enjoying their brief moment of time together.
