[ This is Melissa.

Melissa is visiting her cousin, who goes to the nearby university. He's not with her, though. He's got somewhere to be, which leaves her wandering into Mystic Grill, looking for something to do. ]

[Elena is playing pool in the back, by herself. she looks up when she sees the stranger come in, and she has to admit .... she's curious. But for right now, she's just going to keep playing and wait and see what happens.]

[ While Melissa waits for the drink she ordered, she takes a look around. There's darts, but she's not in the mood for that. Maybe some pool. There's a girl already on one of the tables, playing by herself, so when her drink comes, she decides to join her. ]

Hey. Mind if I join you?

[braveandstupid]

[glances up before shaking her head]

Not at all. You can rack.

[tastedlikegold]

[ She does just that, gathering up the balls, putting them each in their place before pulling the rack back to where it belongs.

When she glances up and gets a better look at the girl, she can't help but smile.

She's cute. ]

I'm Melissa, by the way.

[glances over as she tries to find the right cue, before returning the smile]

Elena. You new in town.

I'm visiting my cousin. He goes to the university.

Well. Welcome to Mystic Falls.

Thanks. [ Said with a great big smile still on her face. She leans on her cue a bit. ] Did you want to break?

Sure.

[goes to pick up her cue and starts to line up her shot]

How long are you going to be staying in town?

[tastedlikegold]

[ And Melissa will just be watching. Not...too carefully because that's creepy and inappropriate, but still. ]

Until Friday. After that it's back home and back to school.

Where do you go to school?

[and she'll take her first shot and watch as the balls spin about the table]

[pauses for a moment as she thinks that over]

Never heard of it. But then again, not many people have heard of Mystic Falls either.

Yeah, they have kind of the same vibe. I guess that's why he came here.

[takes her shot, before stepping away from the table]

How do you like it so far?

[ Melissa talks while she eyeballs the table. ]

I haven't been here that long, but...it's nice. Reminds me of home, so it's comfortable, but it's not home, no one knows me...it's kinda freeing, ya know?

[nods]

I wish I could feel that way sometimes. Everyone that I know here has known me since I was a baby.

Maybe I'll take you home with me. [ A teasing grin as she takes her shot and misses her target. That's your fault, Elena. You distracted her. ]

[She smirks a bit at that, moving to line up her own shot.]

Maybe you should.

[Was that fliritng? Elena Gilbert.]

[ Melissa is good with the flirting. ]

What if I did?

[She gives a bit of a shrug as she moves closer. She doesn't flirt with other girls often, but there's something about Melissa that intrigues her. She wants to know more.]

If I told you, that would ruin the surprise.

[ She smiles big and bright. ]

Think I can fit you in my suitcase?

[She smirks.]

Well, I am very flexible.
