It's her first trip home since Malivore was resolved and Josie brought everyone's memories back. She's been avoiding this, a little, but when your father is Klaus Mikaelson, there's not really any keeping him at arm's distance. He's immortal. He's going to live forever, so out-lasting him really isn't an option.
She's honestly surprised he didn't storm the school the moment he remembered her. Which almost makes her think he's angry with her - and why wouldn't he be? Everyone else was.
The gulf of the courtyard feels endless between them as she rounds the corner and catches him moving through from one room to another. They both stop almost simultaneously, her eyes meeting his, and she grips the strap of her duffel bag tighter before she finally speaks.]
