[And Barry comes around the corner from the kitchen and heading towards the dining room table, a large casserole dish in hand. His tone is teasing though, because he knows that speedster impatience she definitely inherited from him.]

[It's hard to say what she's smiling at more-- her dad or the prospect of food. But if she's being honest, it's the food. Her metabolism runs as fast as his does. She could eat the entire pan of food if he doesn't hurry. Nora is out of her seat, racing over to grab it from him and back into her chair in a split second. Only the fastest man alive could actually see her steal and she honestly doesn't care if he let her to be nice.]

Where's Mom? [Nora is dishing large piles onto her plate as she asks.]

Mom is covering a big story down at town hall, and your brother is on a date.

[With that girlfriend you despise so much.]

[Nora wrinkles her nose but she isn't going to let talk of AshlEE ruin her dinner with dad. It's not very often it's just the two of them. She's going to savor it.]

So what have you been up to? Other than getting on your brother's case.

[Well tormenting her brother is basically a full time job that no one actually pays her for or wants her to do. But someone has to keep his ego in check.

Any irritation she has for her brother melts away as she starts in on her latest accomplishment.]

I was thinking of redesigning the speed suits because did you know that the current design is slower by 0.025 miles per second than what I have in mind? Do you know how much speed that is over, like a minute? An hour? And don't even get me started on the colors. Or the lack of bra support in them. It's so obvious a man designed them.

Well, you knew that already. Your Uncle Cisco takes great pride in those suits.

[But that isn't the important thing, he's just glad she loves science and math. He's totally encouraging though, because he wants her to succeed and be amazing and all that jazz.]

Yeah, no. Obviously I'm not insulting Uncle Cisco. He did a great job. I'm just making it better.

[She's definitely her father's daughter. She was speed reading textbooks by the time she was seven. She was tinkering with gadgets at the lab when she was ten.]

And-- and I found this-- [Nora's phone is in her hand in an instant, scrolling until she finds the picture she wants and shows it to him.]

[He leans over to look at the picture and his eyes widen for a moment before he grins a little.]

That is Mom. And I thought she buried all of those photos, but apparently not.

[He then leans back to go back to his plate.]

We went up against a meta that swapped people's DNA - and he happened to swap me and your mom. So she wound up with speedster powers for a bit.

Awesome.

[Not like awesome that there's a meta that can switch people's DNA, that's kind of bad if you think about it but Nora is of the long standing opinion that Mom is basically a superhero anyway. So that part is awesome.]

I really like the color scheme. I wanted to use it unless you think Mom won't like it? And then we will never speak of this again and I won't even show James.

[That's a lie but at least she tried?]

[Barry's face softens a bit, because it's totally true that Iris is the superest of heroes, but also that his daughter wants to emulate her is the best and is giving him Dad Feelings^TM. So enjoy him being a sap for always.]

I think she would love that.

[She practically beams back at him, just happy to hear that Mom will like her ideas. She's completely her father's daughter, so worshipping the ground the woman walks on runs in her blood.]

Great. Wanna help-- hey this food is pretty good actually, I'm almost a little sorry to not leave any for them [She also gets side tracked easily just like her dad. Go figure.] Anyway, I'm going to tinker with yours too anyway so you might as well weigh in.

Sure. Just ... don't go overboard, alright? Cisco upped the bells and whistles once and a meta who could manipulate tech basically made me useless.

[He would rather not repeat turning into a life raft again.]

[She sticks her tongue out at him for thinking she'd make such a childish mistake.]

Speedsters aside though, how many metas have you met with the same powers?

[There's a pause and a breath there as he tries to think back.]

Not a lot, actually. I mean, there's Dinah Squared back in Star City, but one of them is from Earth 2 so I'm not really sure that counts. I think the speed force has a bit to do with that, though.

That doesn't count. If you factor in doppelgangers or the lack thereof in some people's cases-- [Looking at you, Dad. Uncle Harry told her that Earth Two Barry Allen is just a big nerd and no superpowers at all. And that doesn't even take into account that Nora and James don't exist on that Earth, at least not as speedsters or twins.]

Which does exponentially increase the chances by a factorial of fifty two but there's not that many metas who can jump between Earths so the chances of meeting them unless we go to them are actually pretty low.

[She's quiet for a moment, scratching her chin because that's what you do when you're pondering something massive.]

I wonder why speedsters are hereditary and others don't appear to be.

You'd have to ask Caitlin, but I'm ninety percent sure it's the speed force. It's the only thing we have that other metas don't.

[At least, not that he's aware of. He knows that Cisco can basically feel the universe and discern between one Earth and another, but he doesn't have some kind of external force leading the way.]

Maybe it's bonded to our DNA in some way.

But isn't the dark matter bonded to other metas DNA too?

[Why are you arguing with her, Barry, you know that she's probably smarter than you.]

So anyway, unless we come across Top Jr, and mini Weather Wizard, I'm upgrading your suit.

[HE'S NOT ARGUING, he's just positing theories, why are you being so hostile about it. HE IS NOT CAITLIN HE DOESN'T KNOW HOW THIS STUFF WORKS.

[Daughter of his, do not make those kind of comments about Weather Wizard. He was also a sociopath who kind of wants to kill her father, let's not forget that. But she'll move on.]

Snart's not a meta, but good. Let's just focus on that point and not the other stuff you were saying there.
