[And that means he's doing his job right, tbh.]
Dinner's almost ready. You hungry?
no subject
you cooked right? not Mom? just checking. asking for a friend.
no subject
[Which also means it's probably something like pancakes or French toast for dinner, but who doesn't love breakfast for dinner?]
no subject
i'm there.
i mean i'm literally downstairs and i don't see you or the food so that's kind of awkward
no subject
[And Barry comes around the corner from the kitchen and heading towards the dining room table, a large casserole dish in hand. His tone is teasing though, because he knows that speedster impatience she definitely inherited from him.]
It's here.
no subject
Where's Mom? [Nora is dishing large piles onto her plate as she asks.]
And him, I guess.
no subject
[With that girlfriend you despise so much.]
no subject
So I don't have to worry about leftovers. Awesome.
no subject
[And he'll start dishing out plates as he settles across from her.]
So what have you been up to? Other than getting on your brother's case.
no subject
Any irritation she has for her brother melts away as she starts in on her latest accomplishment.]
I was thinking of redesigning the speed suits because did you know that the current design is slower by 0.025 miles per second than what I have in mind? Do you know how much speed that is over, like a minute? An hour? And don't even get me started on the colors. Or the lack of bra support in them. It's so obvious a man designed them.
no subject
[But that isn't the important thing, he's just glad she loves science and math. He's totally encouraging though, because he wants her to succeed and be amazing and all that jazz.]
Though hey, I happen to love my red and gold theme, thank you very much.
no subject
[She's definitely her father's daughter. She was speed reading textbooks by the time she was seven. She was tinkering with gadgets at the lab when she was ten.]
You can keep the red and gold. That's fine. It's totally you. I want something different and James is getting something different because he's not here to tell me no. And-- and I found this-- [Nora's phone is in her hand in an instant, scrolling until she finds the picture she wants and shows it to him.]
Is this Mom?
no subject
That is Mom. And I thought she buried all of those photos, but apparently not.
[He then leans back to go back to his plate.]
We went up against a meta that swapped people's DNA - and he happened to swap me and your mom. So she wound up with speedster powers for a bit.
no subject
[Not like awesome that there's a meta that can switch people's DNA, that's kind of bad if you think about it but Nora is of the long standing opinion that Mom is basically a superhero anyway. So that part is awesome.]
I really like the color scheme. I wanted to use it unless you think Mom won't like it? And then we will never speak of this again and I won't even show James.
[That's a lie but at least she tried?]
no subject
I think she would love that.
no subject
Great. Wanna help-- hey this food is pretty good actually, I'm almost a little sorry to not leave any for them [She also gets side tracked easily just like her dad. Go figure.] Anyway, I'm going to tinker with yours too anyway so you might as well weigh in.
no subject
[He would rather not repeat turning into a life raft again.]
no subject
Speedsters aside though, how many metas have you met with the same powers?
no subject
Not a lot, actually. I mean, there's Dinah Squared back in Star City, but one of them is from Earth 2 so I'm not really sure that counts. I think the speed force has a bit to do with that, though.
no subject
Which does exponentially increase the chances by a factorial of fifty two but there's not that many metas who can jump between Earths so the chances of meeting them unless we go to them are actually pretty low.
[She's quiet for a moment, scratching her chin because that's what you do when you're pondering something massive.]
I wonder why speedsters are hereditary and others don't appear to be.
no subject
[At least, not that he's aware of. He knows that Cisco can basically feel the universe and discern between one Earth and another, but he doesn't have some kind of external force leading the way.]
Maybe it's bonded to our DNA in some way.
no subject
[Why are you arguing with her, Barry, you know that she's probably smarter than you.]
So anyway, unless we come across Top Jr, and mini Weather Wizard, I'm upgrading your suit.
no subject
Ahem.
Anyway, he also just likes hearing her talk about science stuff.]
True. But also, it's highly likely that the metas we've run into haven't procreated.
[As they are in Iron Heights.]
a year and a half later
[Not that she would do anything with him because he's literally old enough to be her dad and also a villain and those are automatic strikes. A girl can look though. She looks at Oliver Queen too. Her mom taught her how.]
And Snart's gay. So I see your point.
no subject
Snart's not a meta, but good. Let's just focus on that point and not the other stuff you were saying there.
