If this were television, this would be a lovely, dramatic moment, where the confluence of several meaningful events come together in a perfect meeting. It's dramatic. It's romantic. It's the stuff that dreams are made of.
In reality, Hana falls through Rafe's open window. She's not even graceful about it.
She can't go home because it's three in the morning, and even if she managed to shift and sneak in her window in marten form, her mother would catch her. Her mother would catch her and skin her alive, as marten. So she's just going to hide out at Miri's for the time being. She texted ahead. Her biffle knows she's coming, so she figures that the open window she sees on the Guevara's apartment is Miri's.
She sheds her super high heels, scales the fire escape with the kind of skill that comes with a daughter frequently hiding from her overprotective parents, and ever so gently nudges the window open so that she can slide through it ...
... loses her balance and falls to a heap on the ground. Whoops.
She gives a bit of a groan as the bed rustles next to her, and she holds up a hand before she looks up at the person in question. "Sorry, I'm sorry, I totally tripped over my - "
Then she looked up. She really should have looked in the window before she climbed in it.
