[She stops not far from where he's sitting, leaning over the bar a bit to get the bartender's attention where she's told no, they're currently not hiring, sorry to disappoint, but he'll get her a free beer for her trouble, and who is she to say no to that.

Except, by virtue of being free, it naturally becomes the worst one they've got, but that's fine. Cora wasn't actually going to drink it. Instead she just lets her eyes scan the room for a moment, and it's not until they land on Jason that she stops. Yep, there's the wolf she was worried about, but he doesn't seem to be on the attack.

So she'll just pick up her beer, raising it gently in his direction, almost as a show of good faith. Can we play nice and not turn it into a thing?]

[ When she lifts her beer and shoots him a questioning look, he just relaxes and returns one of his own, wide and easy as he lifts his own bottle in a mimicry. He swivels slightly on his stool, nudging the empty one next to him with his foot in invitation as he nods at it, shooting her a questioning look in case she'd like some company. He's content enough to play nice if she is, it's not like he cares enough about dominance bullshit to give a crap if she wanders in for a drink. ]

[And that's enough of an invitation for her. She inches over, sliding up onto the stool with a small nod as she does.]

Hi. I'm Cora.

[No last name. "Hale" isn't the safety net that it used to be when her mom was still alive. At this point, most people only think that "Hale" brings trouble.]

[ He gives his name with an easy grin, because there's no harm in it. He's mostly a nobody - at least according to him - so he's pretty sure this meeting's coincidental at best. Still, his gaze skims over her with an intent curiosity as he takes a drink, letting her settle until she was comfortable. ]

You new in town?

[She nods as she gives her beer a swirl, glancing around the room as she continues to get a feel for the place.]
