[She laughs a bit, before her eyes flash.]

It's okay. I've got it.

[She takes a step back, her fingers running over each of the designs as she tries to find the one that matches the rest of the picture, but even with her ability to see in the dark, she's not getting very far. Apparently she never did puzzles when she was a kid (search 6).]

What was on the top of the last picture?

Um, hold on, let me think.

[ Because she really can't see enough now. She closes her eyes, trying to picture the design in her mind. The Druid's mind is carefully trained to catalogue things into different sectors, so nothing crosses over to confuse them. Spells go in one headspace, each language gets its own, etc. So she focuses, but since this is something she's only just saw once, she can only retain a bit of info (concentration 10). ]

There were two lines that curved up and to the top right. I can't remember what was on the left.

[Cora nods and goes back to looking for it, but not only does she not find it, she is becoming increasingly frustrated with the situation as a whole (search crit fail). Any effort to try and get a handle on her temper is just not there, and she lashes out, swinging a hard punch at the pillar (attack 14) which doesn't do a lot of damage but does ... damage the image of the top dial making finding out which one it is all the more difficult.

Her eyes widen a bit when she realizes what she's done, withdrawing her fist and watching as the crumbling bits of stone come away with it.]

Shit.

[dizzying]

Oh.

[ Well. ]

I... don't think that convinced it to cooperate.

[ She winces a little, hoping it isn't somehow broken on the inside. Reaching out, she gently pushes at the piece, which still moves. At least there aren't a hundred sides to this thing? She could just keep spinning it until the door opens. ]

I think it's okay.

[impetere]

[No. It's really not okay. Because that punch, while it may not have been hard, was enough to trigger the security system on the lock. There's a heavy thunk!, and one of the panels on the wall furthest from them starts to slowly rise. Cora glances over and her eyes widen.]

Oh, that can't be good.

[You wanted booby traps Granuaile? You got your booby traps.]

[dizzying]

[ She takes it back! ]

Crap!

[ She grips her staff and turns her flashlight off, the keychain getting shoved in her back pocket. Whatever's coming, she doesn't want to give them an even better chance of seeing her.

Of course, it could be a trap of arrows, or water will come flooding in. We just don't know. ]

[impetere]

[There's a heavy thunk! that shakes the ground around them and then a rumble as whatever it is starts moving forward and Cora can see clearly enough in the dark that she can make out the large round edges of the boulder that was coming out of the wall. She doesn't think, just reacts, reaching for Granuaile's wrist and tugging her towards the door (reflex save 16).]

Run. Run!

[dizzying]

[ Her eyes go wide and she doesn't have to be told twice. She turns and runs, though being in the dark kind of sucks big time. ]

Which way?!

[impetere]

[Thankfully the hallways are big enough that she doesn't have to worry about clipping Granuaile on a corner as she runs. She weaves her way through them as they head back the way they came (navigage 13), not slowing down until they reach the bright light at the end of the tunnel and are back out the entrance.

She skids to a stop once they are up the hill and turns to watch as the boulder that was following them rolls to a stop at the doorway, collides with it hard and and essentially collapses the entrance.]

That was close.

[dizzying]

[ Once they're safely outside, Granuaile leans on her staff, breathing hard. Okay, now? Not so envious of ol' Indiana Jones. ]

Yeah. You okay?

[ Once that's determined, she'll let herself be bummed that they didn't find anything cool. They found nothing but trouble. ]

[impetere]

[She nods a bit, checking herself over as she does.]

Yeah. I'm good. Are you?

[dizzying]

Yeah, fine.

[ She runs a hand over her forehead and back through her hair, letting out a frustrated sigh. This was a shitty ending to their adventure. But then again, she couldn't expect everything to end up with a win like in the movies. ]

Sucks we didn't see what was at the end. It must be big, to have a security system like that.

[impetere]

[She nods a bit, studying the ruins for a moment and shaking her head.]

Or it could have been something really bad too. Some things aren't meant to be uncovered.

[dizzying]

I guess not.

[ But her voice suggests she's the type to want to see those things anyway, just to know. ]

If it's buried that deep, whatever it is can't come up here to hurt anyone. Probably.

[ There could be other exits to this place after all. ]

Well, that's made me really freaking hungry. Want to hit up a food stand?

Yes. I am starving.

[And with that they head off to get some food and enjoy the rest of their day free of booby traps. /scene]
