[She hears about Allison from Lydia. She also gets warned about Malia.

Not that Cora is necessarily opposed to having family. Family for people who have no family at all are generally good things to have, but the idea of Peter having a kid - one that's her age that she and Derek didn't know about. One that her mother took away - is a bit unsettling and she isn't entirely sure what to do with it.

So she doesn't focus on that. Instead she makes her way up from South America, despite the fact that Derek tells her not to (she was planning on coming up anyway, Allison's death simply forced her to move up her time table) and the first thing she does is track down Isaac. He's her pack.

Well, he's her pack that's not Derek (which would end in a fight) or Scott (which would be awkward) or Peter (which would just end in uncomfortable questions they don't have the answers to).

Argent lets her in without a second thought, directing her to the room where Isaac has been saying, and she stops just inside the threshold. She leans in the doorway for a moment, crossing her arms in front of her chest.]

Hey.

[ Isaac doesn't get Malia. Besides how baffling it is that she was a coyote all her life and she has her basic faculties, she's a little too into Stiles and he just doesn't get that. She also seems to be a part of Scott's pack and considering it took him time to be accepted into it, it stings a little. He feels replaced. In all honestly, he naturally steps away himself. Most days he wants to throw Scott into the wall. Scott reminds him of Allison. There's hypocrisy in it. He lives with Chris Argent. Shouldn't that bring everything up. But, living with Chris is like living with a piece of Allison. It's living with someone who somehow, against all odds seems to care about his well-being. He yells at Isaac when Isaac doesn't remember the last meal he ate. And then he makes him eat. It's something Isaac isn't used to.

Chris Argent and Melissa McCall have similarities. But, it's different living under their respective roofs. Chris is around more. He never doubted if Melissa cared but there was always that ... wall. Maybe he kept it up, maybe he hadn't let her in but there was always going to be a feeling. Isaac was intruding. He didn't belong there. It was always supposed to be temporary. He does show up one day during her shift - just to thank her.

She deserves that at least.

Derek's the only person he's able to talk to and only in increments. He's not ready to do "pack" things and Derek might as well be president of Scott's fan club. At one time, Isaac felt like he might have been, but that's not true any longer.

He's attempting homework, something he hasn't been able to concentrate on, when Cora appears in his doorway. Giving up, he closes the book he's trying to read and sits up, sliding to the edge of the bed. ] Hey. [ He and Cora had never been close. A part of that was Derek giving him his stay away eyebrows. But, he'd always liked her. He'd wished he'd gotten to know her better. He's surprised she's there. But, then - there was a time Isaac was pack and to Cora, you're always pack. ] You heard?

[She nods. She isn't really sure what to say to everyone else. They all loved Allison a lot more than she did, and she's never really been good with comfort. By the time she got here, the battle was already done. She feels a little useless, but she has a feeling that Isaac doesn't really need her to talk.]

You okay?

[ Isaac could lie. But, he doesn't have the best poker face. That definitely goes to Derek. Or, maybe the nogitsune, who fooled them for days. ]

No. But, I think it's okay. Because, nobody expects me to be. Besides, she - she wasn't my daughter. I don't get to ... not be as not okay as Chris is. [ You know? ] Is it lame to say we're helping each other? [ Cause that's what it feels like. ]

[She shakes her head. It's not lame. Helping each other is what you're supposed to do in these kinds of things.]

Just because he loved her longer doesn't mean you don't get to love her too.

[Just pointing that out.]

Yeah, but I --

[ He really doesn't know. He'd never felt that way about anyone. He'd had crushes, but nothing that serious. Nothing that definite. ]

How can I know. What if I loved her? How -- do you know?

[Cora hasn't the slightest clue. She spent most of her teen years trying to find her way back to Derek, she's never been in love herself.]

I don't know. I guess ... it's something you just do.

Like, taking in your daughter's ... I don't even know if I was her boyfriend. [ He doesn't even know what it would mean. He shakes his head. ] It doesn't matter now. She's gone and Scott was the love of her life. [ Talk about a kick in the nuts. ] She died in his arms. She kept saying how much she loved him. [ Loves him. ] I know it was a reaction. She was dying. And I know her and Scott had this epic thing. Just... sucks to hear it.

[She pauses for a moment, before tipping her head to the side.]

Were you together long enough for you to be more than that?

Not officially? We only - [ He looks up at her. No, she doesn't... need to hear about his sex life. ] Probably not.

So don't take it personally.

[Which she knows is easier said than done. She doubts that Allison would have gone there if she didn't mean something to him.]

Just because he was always going to mean something to her doesn't mean that you didn't mean something to her too. He was the one there and she was dying.

[ He wants to say they were all there. But, he knows she's right. He attempts a smile and nods before getting up. ]

Thanks. I was gonna forage for food. You hungry?

[She nods in agreement.]

Sure.

Good. Kitchen's this way. [ She probably knows as she passed by it, but he stills leads her there. ] Are you back for good?

I don't know. I haven't seen Derek yet.

[Which means there is an oncoming fight to determine the outcome of that particular question.]

You came here first. [ It's more the implication, that at one time before Derek had kicked him out they were pack. And that still means something to her, more than it ever meant to Derek. ] Thanks.

[Isaac has always been complicated, considering Isaac was kicked out because of her. She hadn't necessarily known that he needed it either. He was just the easiest one to see.]

I'm trying to avoid the fight. Derek wanted me to stay put.

You want to avoid a fight with Derek, you should avoid Derek. [ he offers a small smile. ] I could ... heat up something in the microwave.

[She shrugs a bit in response to the food.]

Sure.

[then back to the bit about Derek.]

Unless Argent is planning on letting me sleep here, I'm going to have to see him eventually.

More than one werewolf might send him over the edge. [ He doesn't know. ] You're family. It'll be fine. [ He won't throw things at family. Not that his dad subscribed to the same idea. ] Hot Pockets it is.

[ It probably will be, after the initial fight. They just needed to get that out of the way first. ]
