[Given that they're both more night people, it's not odd that Cami and Josh both aren't usually up before noon. She only winds up in that position if she has plans, and that's not often - because she's a night person.
But when it's pushing two or three in the afternoon and Josh still hasn't roused himself off her couch yet, she makes her way over to wave coffee under his nose.]
So now that you're a vampire, does this mean you're nocturnal?
[ Some days, Josh lays there. Days where he doesn't want to go to the apartment he's hiding out in. And Cami lets him stay with her. Everyone's convinced that Klaus is done with him, that Josh is probably safe but he'd like to not test that theory. So, he still lies low. He genuinely likes Cami. She's sweet and she doesn't judge him. Totally like the big sister he's never had.
The coffee smells like heaven, though. His head turns with the scent, rousing. He smiles. ]
I think it means I'm more nocturnal? [ And then his eyes finally open and he sits up, taking the cup gracefully. ] Thanks, Cami. [ He takes a sip. ] I've always been nocturnal. I used to stay up til, like, five or six in the morning. Some days, I didn't even sleep. But, that's x for you.
I keep trying to keep semi-regular hours. But, it's like my body fights it. Plus, if I want to go out at all, I have to wait for night. Is it weird that I have less of a life, now? It's like, I know I have the rest of my life ahead of me but... it doesn't feel that way.
[ Maybe that's Klaus' influence. Lying low, just in case he decides to get his revenge. ]
I know my life doesn't revolve around a daylight ring, and plenty of stuff happens at night, but man would it help. [ He finally stops to breathe, so to speak, and sip his coffee. ]
You work at a bar, right? Around alcohol? [ He misses alcohol. ] Any chance you can pick up like, a bottle of something. I'll even take cheap beer. [ He also knows he's underage but, hey, he's permanently underage forever. Do him a solid? ]
You are a godsend. [ Also, super cool. ] Did I ever tell you how badass it is that you're going toe-to-toe with all these vampires? You're like my hero.
I found ways to stick my head in the sand. Bad grades? Party more. Absentee parents. Party more. If Klaus had had some kind of fixation on me, I would probably be dead. [ Sad to think about. ] You're strong.
[ She knows this, about Marcel. All the same, she isn't sure how much they can do against Klaus without getting hurt themselves. All the same, she's not going to worry about it too much. She just gives him a small smile and nods. ]

I guess you don't really need that excuse anymore, what with the whole ...
[Vampire thing.]

Hopefully once Davina is feeling up to it she'll be able to learn the spell and get you one. I couldn't imagine being cooped up in here all day.

You would do the same if you were in my position. Or at least try.

We'll see well that works in the long run.
[Because digging into this battle will not end well for any of them, really.]
