"I'll take you word for it on that." But overall he can't say he's sad he missed it.

He probably shouldn't be. Shawn's fascination with them is probably the exception to the rule. Most people were terrified - and rightly so. Shawn just nods, before continuing to bounce along. "I wonder of Luna could have communicated with them. Her Rift power was talking to animals."

[lockwood]

"I don't think I knew Luna." Chicago was a big city, after all.

"Luna was the best." Mostly because she believed every line of bull that Shawn fed her. Cultural differences between muggles and witches. "She had such an open mind. Which is kind of important for a place like Chicago."

[lockwood]

"I imagine an open mind makes things a little easier." He remembers briefly when he met Amy -- how great it had been to meet someone who was excited he was a werewolf.

"It's what the world is about, dude." He continues driving, and as he does, he catches what he's easily come to identify as a tear in the universe opening up for them. "Looks like that's our ride."

[lockwood]

"So it is."

And in they go for a day back in Chicago. Just one day.
