Amy gives Rory's hand a squeeze.]
I've always wanted to be eaten by a squelch-monster. [A pause.] No, that was rubbish. We can't call it that.
no subject
... No, she's right, that's terrible.]
Definitely not squelch-y.

[Amy's more like the appetizer.]

Maybe we should try to get back to the TARDIS. There might be one in the library.
[really, he just wants to get back to the TARDIS.]

A sane plan or a Doctor plan?

No offense.
But he huffs and hands her the highlighter anyway, because he knows he'll never hear the end of it if he doesn't.]

Keeping hold of Rory's hand, she chucks the highlighter and manages to hit the not-squelch-monster in the face. It turns to look at them and lumbers forward. Amy doesn't move. Lumber.]
Okay, run now!
no subject
[but he's still running. He's starting to think he does far too much of that.]
no subject
[ALL THE RUNNING. Oh look the TARDIS.
Amy's plan's are brilliant. Don't knock it till you, oh... hey monster.
Amy skids to a stop.]
It's still better.
no subject
This is why the Doctor is the only one who does Doctor plans.

[And that exasperation is met with Amy's frustration. No, she's not a time lord, but at least she's trying.]
no subject
I'd just rather work with an Amy plan.
no subject
What about a Rory plan, we're due for one of those, aren't we?

I haven't got much beyond "run."

He loves the hustle and bustle of the city, he loves the liveliness of it all. He likes the way the city seems to take on a pulse of it's own, even way back when, before the world literally became something that operated twenty four hours a day. Of all the places he and Amy could be stuck, New York isn't a bad one.
He misses home, though. He misses the TARDIS, he misses their house with the TARDIS blue door, he misses his life and his friends. Love and loss in the same breath and it's hard to believe that he's seen worlds fade away, entire civilizations, and the one that he misses is the one that the world won't see as being all that important at all.
He's currently sitting on a bench in the middle of Central Park, watching the world as it passes him by. It's the summer of 1950, almost fifteen years after the Doctor was forced to leave them behind, and Rory is still watching the world go by, in a normal and linear fashion. It's odd, especially considering it isn't his time, but he's managing all the same.
He almost doesn't notice the woman sitting on the bench next to him.
Almost.
"Lovely day, isn't it?"
